Bio

Luke Henry is an up-and-coming composer who lives and works in Nashville, TN. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Luke has been involved with a number of interesting collaborations, including with Transient Canvas, Interlochen ensembles and the Videri String Quartet. Luke officially began his compositional journey at Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Summer Intensive in 2017, where he was tasked with writing four pieces in two weeks. After such a rigorous start to composition, Luke was accepted into the Jacobs School of Music in the Fall of 2018, where he studied under professors such as Don Freund, Claude Baker, Aaron Travers, Sky Macklay, and David Dzubay to complete his undergraduate degree of a Bachelor in Music Composition and a Minor in Arts Management in 2022. In October of 2019 in his sophomore year, Luke began his journey into arts management by hosting his own Halloween Concert, where he and five of his colleagues premiered six new compositions with over 40 performers. He also served as the President of the Student Composers’ Association at Jacobs, which is dedicated to finding new collaborations between departments. Luke now works for the Nashville Symphony as the Ticketing and Customer Team Manager and continues to compose and collaborate with artists around the world. For his music, Luke draws upon a strong influence from his years of playing Jazz and Blues.
